My Freshman year at ISU
Tags: college
Ok, my freshman year of college is over. Woo!! It has been for a while now, but I just got to writing about it on here. College is an amazing experience. It was so much better and different than I ever expected. I don't really know how to express all of the amazing times I had so I'll make a list.

Things that happened this year:
I met some amazing people.
I lost touch with old friends.
I showered with sandals on.
I watched a lot of movies.
I got way too drunk.
I blacked out.
I threw up from drinking too much.
I took care of friends who drank too much.
I had random hook-ups...(not a good idea!)
I avoided boys.
I chased boys.
I was hit on by ugly guys.
I was hit on by hot guys.

I had an almost boyfriend.
I lost him.
I smoked cigarettes, which I hated.
I got Cs for the first time.
I wrote a lot of papers.
I ate a lot of dorm food.
I ordered pizza more than ever.
I fell in love with my new iPod.
I went on walks.
I suntanned in the quad.
I played Capture the Flag on the quad.
I went to St. Louis (twice).
I sang in the Center of Performing Arts.
I met A LOT of guys named Jason....They were all assholes!
I got beer thrown at me.
I got beer and a bunch of other stuff spilled on me.
I was sexually assaulted.
I danced a lot.
I dressed up to go out.
I came home in the early hours of the morning.
I slept in the same bed with a guy.
I had sleepovers.
I fell out of my bed.
I went to frat parties.
I had girls nights.
I ate way too much popcorn.
I learned a lot (academic stuff and life lessons).

Those are just some of the few good and bad things that college life brought me this year. It was amazing, and I can't wait until my sophomore year!

COLLEGE LIFE ROCKS!!
Well here I am, sitting in my dorm. Oh wait, they don't call them "dormitories" any more, because dormitory implies that the only thing you do there is sleep. They are now referred to as residence halls, because we also socialize and hang out. Hahahaha so lame. I learned that today...I'm so glad I'm paying all of this money for this fine education. Lol.

But seriously, college is pretty sweet. I'm having a fun time, meeting people and hanging out. The classwork sucks because let's face it, SCHOOL SUCKS. But I need to get through it if I want to make it out of here. I'm trying my best, it's just hard to get motivated sometimes, you know? But I must admit, it does feel nice to be all caught up. Like today I did my English paper and my homework from LinC with time to spare, and I was like YAY!! Haha.

People say how college is like party party party. And I was always just like meh.... But they're so right!! Seriously, all you have to do is walk down the street, and you'll be invited to a party. If you're a girl anyway...haha. Like I'll be going somewhere with my girlie friends and a bunch of guys will say, "Hey, where you ladies going?" We tell them and they say, "Forget about that place and come here." It's so sweet!

Tina came down this past weekend and we had tons of fun, as usual. We met this hot guy named Josh who looks like Ace from The Real World Paris, if you all know that show. Then later that same night, we met this awesome guy named Dave. He's one of the ones who stopped us on the street. One of his friends was all, "These are the nicest guys you will ever meet in your life." Dave comes out and says "Hey I've got beer, water, lemonade, and two bathrooms. What do you want?" Tina had to go to the bathroom really really bad, which is why we stopped, so we told him "Bathroom!" and he lead us right up. We had to leave and come back, and when we did we were watching him sing dance. It was soooo hilarious. He knew ALL the words to all the songs by 'NSYNC, BSB, BBMack...you name it! Haha. Watching drunk people when you're sober is soo hilarious.

So needless to say, I am having a good time down here. Like I said, it's a little hard to buckle down and get work done, but I think that will get better. It's not like I go out and party on the weekdays. I'll just sit around and listen to music, or go in my friend's rooms and watch movies and whatnot. Like tonight, we watched First Daughter on HBO. It was such a cute movie! Hehe.

I'm coming home this weekend. Personally, I think it's kind of lame because I just got here two weeks ago. But it is an extra day that I'll get. Plus everyone else is going home, so there's no way I'm gonna be stuck here alone, haha.

All right, well I should get to bed. Goodnight all, and leave me some love! I miss my friends!!

Another awesome weekend!

So, I had an awesome weekend again! It started Thursday night (which is not really part of the weekend, I know) when Lauren and Lauren came over. We went to Portillo's to eat dinner, and then scouted out a park. Since I don't know the area too well yet, I didn't know where any were! haha. We took pictures there and just gooofed around a bit until it was time to catch our movie. We went to see Wedding Crashers, which Lo and I had already seen, but it was all good.

On Friday I went mini golfing with my aunt and cousins. I totally beat his butt!! haha. It was fun. =) Then that night I went out with Steph, her sister Michelle, and Lo. They drove out here and picked me up and we went to Steph's cousin's house, which is literally five minutes from here. He was having a party...he's 26. Steph, Michelle, and I spent the night.

Then they took me home so I could go to my dad's Saturday. That was okay. It was the last weekend I spent there before school. We went mini golfing (yes I went again...and to the same place! haha). We watched Love Actually, I spent the night, la di da.

I woke up early on Sunday so I could go to my mom's. It was a joyful experience, let me tell you. Haha actually it wasn't that bad. I had to go to pack things up. She pretty much rushed everything, which was fine. It's not like I was dying to spend my whole day with her. After I left my mom's, I went to hang out with Brad. I hadn't seen him since school ended and I miss that kid! We went out to lunch and then he had to go work. He went to work and I went and hung out with Kathy. I haven't talked to her since school ended! Not really anyway. I called her and we talked for a while and I was able to convince her to hang out haha. We just bummed around town pretty much until 9:45, and then I went to Melissa's. I hung at her house for a while and then went home. I saw many people in one day!! haha.

Today was my last therapy session. I went alone this time. It went all right I guess. Then my grandma came over and had dinner with us. That was nice. Then I got totally blown off tonight. That sucked. And now my back hurts so bad I cannot go to bed. Gosh life sucks sometimes doesn't it??

My AWESOME weekend!! Woo hoo.

So, this weekend was sOoO much fun!! I'm gonna recount it quite thoroughly. I'll bold parts so you can skim read if you want. I'm so nice, aren't I? Haha.

So, Tina came over Friday night. My family was out of town so she came to keep me company. We went over to Fox Valley Mall and had fun just walking around and taking pictures in stores and stuff. We got in trouble in this store called Deb's, haha. But not before I took this totally cute picture of Tina! Then we went over to downtown Naperville and did more walking around. There's not much to do for teenagers, but we don't mind. We just find steps to sit on and aimlessly roam around. Oh, and get gawked at by weird guys, haha. That was quite interesting. Then we came back here...watched TV, and she uploaded pictures while I crashed on my bed haha. She spent the night and left Saturday morning. We had a grand time!!

Then on Saturday, I hung out with my dad. We went out to eat and digital camera shopping. I haven't bought one yet, we were just looking. Then we went to his house and watched the last two episodes of CSI Season 2. It was fun. He took me home and I got ready for my girls to come over!!

Lauren and Lauren came over on Saturday night. We went to dinner at Panera and then headed over to downtown Naperville. Again, not much to do there. We ended up leaving after like a half an hour or so. We went to Blockbuster but couldn't agree on a movie, so we just went back to my house. We dressed up in my cousins' dress-up clothes, watched some TV, and then rocked out to the music channels. We were dancing and just having a good time. It was awesome. Then we fell asleep on the couches in the living room at like 2 AM watching Beavis and Butthead...what a dumb show haha. They had to leave at 6 AM so Prochnow could be at the Renaissance fair to work in time. I went back to bed and got up at 10:45 to get ready for my mom.

On Sunday I went college shopping with my mom. We got things for my dorm room and some clothes. It started getting tiring after a while, but it went pretty well. My mom and I got along fairly well  , so that was nice I suppose. I got back home at about 4:00. At 5:30 I left for Tina's house. I went and had dinner there, and then we went to the drive-in!! Jen Leibs and her friend Ren (Lauren) came and picked us up and Jen drove us to the McHenry drive-in. We had a bit of conflict getting there, but we made it in time. We saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Dukes of Hazzard. Drive-ins are always double features, you know. We got back into Palatine about 1 AM and I spent the night at Jenny's. I had such a blast! I had never really hung out with her outside of school, but I wish I had more often. Now that I spent that time with her I'm gonna miss her so much! She's so much fun! haha. We stayed up for a while and just talked, and that was awesome.

Jen had to go to a doctor's appointment this morning at like 8:40. I was going to leave when she did, but I was so tired and her mom felt bad for me, so she let me stay and sleep, haha. When she came back we talked some more while I drank orange juice, and then I left to hang out with Nicole. Nicole and I ran errands and stuff. Nothing special, but I had fun with her. I hadn't seen her since school ended. I'm glad I got to hang out with her before I go away.

Well, that is all my friends. Thanks for reading, and I'll be posting later!

Pull up a chair, because this is long

Hey hey everyone. Well it's been almost two months and I'm not sure how to summarize what's happened, but I suppose I can try...

I went to Connecticut and had a good time. I loved hanging out with Warda and getting to know her more. We didn't get to go to NYC, which really sucked, but we did go to the beach! That was loads of fun! And I got tan!! hehe. While I was in CT, my mom sent me an e-mail saying she didn't want me back  when I got returned. There were a lot of tears, but Warda was really great through all of it. I was so grateful to have her to hold me and comfort me. I was so embarrassed that I was blubbering like a little baby, but she insisted that I get all of my feelings out.

When I came back on June 18, I slept over at Lauren's and we went on a double date with Navy boys. That was loads of fun! hehe. Except the guy I went on a date with, Aaron, got stationed in Washington that Thursday. Just my luck.

Then I went to my dad's for a week. A few things happened in that short time. I went to get my things from my mom's house, and that was a little shaky. Then that Thursday I hung out with Jason, and the next day I ran over Melissa's mailbox with my dad's car. hahaha. It's actually not funny because it's an expensice mistake!! I also got into a HUGE fight with my mom that day. She insisted she be there when I go back to the house, even though I ad keys and it was not necessary. She then demanded that I give her my keys, and said I was not welcome back anytime soon. Just dandy.

Then I went to my aunt's family reunion with her and my cousins. Met her whole family and they were so great to me. I moved in with my aunt, uncle, and cousins that week. My cousins stayed with my aunt's dad in Decatur that whole week, so we just kind of milled around. Went to the Rib Fest, and I went into Palatine. Stayed the weekend with Steph and that rocked! Then I went to Decatur with my aunt and uncle for the 4th. On the 11th, they went to Orlando for a week and I stayed here and housesat/ watched the dog. It got a little lonely, but I was all right. I saw Michelle, Anam, and Emily. Emily came to visit me, which was exciting.

Then when my family got back, my aunt took me to my orientaion down at ISU. She stayed at her dad's with her boys for the time she wasn't at the orientation. (It was a two day thing). Then we went back to her dad's and out on the lake in his boat. I went tubing and attempted to water ski!! It was great fun.

That brings us to now. My mom and I have gone to two counseling sessions. Things aren't really getting any better, but whatever. I didn't expect them to. My mom's the one that basically made me do this. Originally, she said I could come back if I saw someone. Now I am, and she doesn't want me back. The tension between me and her dumb boyfriend is too stressful for her.

I like living out here, it's just hard because I'm losing friends. I really only have a few people I can truly depend on now. People who will come see me even though it's a 30 mile drive. Thank you you guys!

I leave for school in three and a half weeks, and I'm getting pumped. Before my orientation I was super nervous, but I'm not as bad anymore. I'm just really excited now. Excited to be off on my own and meeting new people.....oh, and exicted to learn too!! haha.

Well I think this is long enough. Sorry it's been so long since I've written, and sorry this entry is so lenghty. I had a lot to catch you up on though! I'll write later...

My Reflections

So, it's been quite a while since I've written. A lot has happened. Basically, my world has been turned around. Things have changed between my mom and me. She thinks I don't respect her enough, and she keeps saying I should move in with my dad. She tried throwing me out 3 weeks ago. That was a fun time... My entire family is pretty much against what she is doing, and I think it's all going to blow up pretty soon. Probably at my graduation party at the end of July. Oh gosh. :-/

I graduated on Sunday. It doesn't feel like it though. I feel exactly the same. I expected there to be this big change, because that's how it was when I graduated 8th grade, which isn't even a huge deal. Of course I thought it was then. I was crying lots and thought it was the end of the world, but it was soo minor. Graduating high school is obviously much more major, and that's why I thought I'd cry and be all upset. I thought I'd feel free, grown up, and just...better. But I feel exactly the same. I don't think it's going to hit me until I leave for ISU in August. August 18 is the day I leave. That's going to be one sad day...

I don't know what's going on with boys either. Andy is just acting weird...he's such a mixed signal sender!! I can never tell what he's thinking or what he wants. When I saw him 3 weeks ago, he told me he didn't want a relationship because I am leaving in the fall. Whatever. That's such an excuse.

But starting tomorrow I am taking a break from it all. I'm going to Connecticut June 11-18 to visit Warda. It's going to be soooo much fun! It's gonna be so nice to be able to just get away from here and all of this drama. Hopefully I will have time to think and clear my head, and I'll come back with a fresh mindset.

Well, I think that's all for now. I'm done reflecting, lol. I'll try to write more in this though....after I get back, of course. Byee everyone!!

Emergency Room again...

So yesterday I made my second trip in ten days to the Emergency Room. This time it was for my eyes. They were really swollen...my eyelids were all puffy and I looked Asian. You know how some of them like don't have a fold in their eyelids? Well that's how I looked haha. I would not be pretty as a Japanese girl, let's just say.

So yeah the doctor diagnosed me with blepharitis. According to these papers I received, "Blepharitis is an inflammation and irritation of your eyelids. This happens when the oil glands in your eyelids make more oil than usual. Sometimes the oil glands become infected. Sometimes blepharitis is related to allergies. Blepharitis causes scaly, crusty eyelids. Your eyelids may feel itchy and irritated. It may feel uncomfortable to blink."

I got three medications prescribed, but could only get two of them filled because there was a mess-up on one of them..the doctor didn't specify how many I should get, when and how often I should take them, etc. Well I woke up this morning and they were hella worse!! Apparently that medication I couldn't take was the one that was supposed to help the swelling and inflammation!!

So my mom picked that up today (it's a steroid by the way..hahaha I'm on steroids!!) and they're actually looking better already! SoOo yay for that. Ahh so much health drama lately!

On a happy note, I'm going to Connecticut this summer!!!! I'm soOoO flipping excited! I'm leaving June 11 and returning June 18. I'm going to visit Warda. She'll still be in school but that's ok. I'll hang out at her pool till she gets back haha. The tickets are all booked already so I'm for sure going. She lives 20 minutes from the beach and two hours from NYC!! HECK YES!! It's gonna be amazing and I am so ECSTATIC!!!

Well I'm still stressing out about Prom. Tickets are this Saturday and I still have no date. Maybe Emily will be my date! Haha. Stupid boys! AHH! But anyway I won't complain too much about that. I've got to be getting to bed soon, I need a good night's rest! Goodnight all!!

31 Things Guys Should Know About Girls

Ok, I stole this from a friend's blog but it's awesome and you should read it!!!

31 Things Guys Should Know About Girls
Written by a guy. After years of experience.

1. Whatever you do, don't just show up at their house...they run around in their underwear just like we do.

2. Don't cheat on them. It may seem foolproof, but girls tell each other everything about everything. Trust me, they WILL find out and you will be mud.

3. Beware of every single male relatives and all guy friends. Any of them would kick your butt at the drop of a hat, and a lot of them wouldn't even wait for the damn hat.

4. Never miss an opportunity to tell them they're beautiful.

5. Don't refuse to kiss in front of your friends. If they laugh at you, it's because they're jealous.

6. If they slap you hard, you deserved it.

7. Don't be afraid to touch them if you want to. If they're going out with you in the first place, it's because they like being in your arms.

8. If you don't sleep with them, do not tell your friends that you did.

--8.5. If you DO sleep with them, don't tell your friends that you did.

9. You can be dirty minded in private, really...most of them are not offended by it...

10. Not all of them eat like birds, a lot of them can eat like whales.

11. Most of them don't mind paying half of everything, but they do discuss these things with their friends. Realize that if you make your girlfriend pay half all the time, everyone will know about it and your friends will know you're a pussy.

--11.5. Do you honestly need all your money that much? Be a man, pay all the time!

12. Every girl should eventually get three things from her boyfriend- a stuffed animal, one of his sweatshirts, and a really pretty ring. Even if it's not a serious relationship.

13. Make sure she gets home safely as often as you can. If you're dropping her off, walk her to the door. If you aren't dropping her off, call to be sure she's home safely.

14. If a guy is bothering her, it is your right to kick the crap out of him.

15. If you're talking to a female friend of yours, pull your girlfriend closer.

16. Never, ever slap her, even if it's just in a joking way. Even if she swats you first, and says, "Oh, you're so dumb" or something, never make any gestures back.

17. Go to a chick flick once in a while. She doesn't care whether you enjoy it or not, it just matters that you went.

18. You're dead meat if you can't get along with their pets, parents and best friends. Be prince charming to their friends, Mr. Polite to their parents, and make sure to be nice to their animals.

19. Don't flirt with their moms or friends...that's just freaky.

20. Don't be freaked out by PMS. It's not gross, and it really does make them feel like crap, so be understanding.

21. If you don't like the way they drive, you do it.

22. If you're officially dating, and you're introducing her to your friends, you'd better damn well introduce her as your girlfriend.

23. Don't stress where you go for every date. They really only want to be with you.

24. If they complain that something hurts, rub it for them without being asked.

25. Girls are fragile. Even if you're play fighting/wrestling, be very gentle.

26. Memorize their birthdays. You forget her birthday and you're basically screwed for life.

27. Don't marinade the cologne.

28. Don't give her something stupid for her birthday or Christmas or Valentine's day. It doesn't have to be expensive, but it has to be meaningful. Jewelry is always nice.

29. If you think the relationship isn't going to last, don't wait to find out. It will only hurt you more if you draw it out.

30. After you've been dating for a while, realize that they really have started to trust you. When you have a girlfriend who truly trusts you, you have a lot more responsibility, privilege and control than you would think. Be careful with it, most guys would kill for that kind of power, and it can be lost in a nanosecond.

31.Don't ever do anything wrong (well not anything). girls remember things for life and anything you did wrong will be used against you in the future.

No songs - Serenade me.
